Trade & Tariff

As a trade association, AFFTA represents multiple sectors in the marketplace; manufacturers, retailers, guides and outfitters, who are all impacted by pricing decisions in the global supply chain. As such, we advocate for favorable trade policies, work to educate our members about how current policy actions effect their business and offer information and resources to help them make decisions appropriate to their individual business needs.

We will update pertinent information about trade policy developments as it becomes available.

Section 301 action on Chinese imported goods
An increase in tariffs to 25% on imported goods from China went into effect at midnight on May 9th, 2019. The increase and uncertainty will make it more difficult and costly for our industry’s businesses and the local economies that rely on them to stay viable. These tariffs will further stifle innovation, force unfair and highly expensive production changes, inhibit the free market and freeze, or worse, cut employment.
